We are delighted to announce that Adactus Housing Association has offered The Time Machine a grant to deliver sessions to residents and some other community groups.

We are equally proud of the fact that the Community Living Fund in Southport has offered to fund 10 sessions for various isolated, disabled or otherwise marginalised groups in Sefton and West Lancs.

We are in the process of seeking furhter funding as there are so many underfunded and needy groups.

This can only help strengthen our reputation as a responsible and dedicated company.

I would like to thank all those who have complimented me on the sessions and asked when I'm coming back. I do hope to see you soon. The event is so very popular. The last time I left a home they were still dancing in the corridors: that makes it all worthwhile.

All new customers will pay a flat fee for the 1st visit of £65 for up to 20 people.

We are now in a position to offer interactive memory stimulating sessions, tailor made to your requirements.

We are pleased to announce that we are now working across about 25 homes locally and some big names are either working with us or interested in doing so, like the Alzheimer's Society, Queenscourt Hospice, Brighter Living Sefton, Stroke Fellowship, Adactus Housing,One Vision Housing, Riverside Housing to name but a selection. Times are very exciting and things are moving very fast.

We've had an article in the Champion on 11/3/15 and one on OTS News. We thank them for the chance of some welcome press presence. Furthermore, there has been an article in the Daily Mail about how beneficial going to the cinima is in relation to dementia here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3020380/Why-weekly-trip-cinema-ward-dementia-Good-plots-stimulate-brain-help-prevent-build-harmful-deposits-lead-condition.html It proves that the experience really is good for your residents and that we're on the right track.

There are plenty of themed ideas for you to choose from. Valentines Day with a nice romantic film, St. Patrick's Day with Michael Flatley's River Dance, St. George's Day with Dad's Army to mention but a few. This is something we will be offering from now on and we'll be emailing our customers and those still undecided but showing interest our occasional newsletters.

You know your people better than we do and you know how long or short a time they will find the most suitable. We can tailor make any session but please make sure that your audience will enjoy for example, a long film and that you reuqest an interlude for people to take a comfort break. You'd be surprised that people with dementia will actually sit through quite a long film as long as the plot isn't ultra complex and there is plenty of variety. I find that musicals go down very well. Alternatively, you can combine two or three shorts to change pace and atmosphere. If you're still unsure, come and ask our advice. We want to help you and won't pressurise for a sale you don't want or need.

We don't want anybody to miss out on an experience because they don't have enough money, so if you are genuinely very limited in your budget and are a deserving cause we will endeavour to make arrangements to suit you. Please note, our decision is final and binding.

We hope you'll find inspiration and something for your residents to look forward to.

See you soon!

Feedback:

Firstly, from myself, I am recognised now, sometimes weeks later, by residents I thought would probably not remember me who have moderate to severe memory loss. I really thought that wasn't possible and it's probably the best compliment I could have.

"I just wanted to say a big thank you for coming to our WI last night . The ladies loved the film and popcorn. I have had phonecalls this morning from some of the members saying how much they enjoyed it. Others last night put in a requested film for next time!"

"Thank you very much for the film show that you delivered to our Older Persons Forum yesterday. Our members really enjoyed the event and it made our last meeting before Christmas into a special occasion.

Dementia Day Centre in Ainsdale: "They were still dancing in the corridor half an hour after you left. They thouroughly enjoyed the afternoon."

We would also be pleased if you passed on our thanks to your funder for making this opportunity available to us.  We had over 60 people at the meeting yesterday."

A large local housing association: If the night is successful I will be looking to book again for approximately 5 other venues.

Penwortham: the residents with dementia were still talking about it the next day.

Rest home in Southport: "you just have to come back, it's the first time we've ever seen her smile!"
